The 2017 Notre Dame Recruiting Class looks good! It’s almost memorial day, so that means any true blooded #NotreDameGuy is starting to feel the college football itch. While the Irish weren’t able to sign any 5-star recruits this year, they more than made up for it by signing ten 4-star recruits. Not to shabby, if I do say so myself and I do. The Irish, who are known for their prowess at the tight end position have brought in the #2 and #3 tight ends in the country in Brock Wright and Cole Kmet. The dynamic duo of Aaron Banks and Robert Hainsey are the likely future of the Irish offensive line. They both also have what it takes to play on Sundays as well.
The 2017 Notre Dame recruiting class is the #10 ranked draft class in the country.
The 2017 Notre Dame Recruiting class ranks #1 amongst Independent colleges. That’s cool to throw around, but it really only means that we’re better than Brigham Young, Massachusetts and Army.

2017 Notre Dame Recruiting Class notes:
- Brock Wright who enrolled early, has been named a “tight end to watch,” by the program. But, Mack and Smythe had a great Spring, with Weishar making strides in the right direction as well. Wright did his part this Spring through and showed great physicality. Don’t expect to see him much this fall though.
- Robert Hainsey and Aaron Banks both had strong Spring showings. Coach Kelly seems to be very fond of Hainsey and has vocalized this. Hainsey may compete for a starting position this Fall. Banks on the other hand needs more work, but has been harolded as a likey future first round draft pick due to his ideal physical attributes.
- CJ Holmes was injured during the Spring practices, which isn’t a big deal as he’s fifth on the depth chart currently. That being said, word on the street is that he impressed coaches.
- Isaiah Robertson has the best Spring of all the early enrollees. He’s a perfect fit for Mike Elko’s new defensive system and shined. He had many interceptions during the spring practices and was never afraid of contact. He’s a likely true freshman starter.
