Pump the breaks. Things were looking too good in Philadelphia. The future was too bright. Philadelphia had to make bogus move. The 76ers have traded Nerlens Noel to the Dallas Mavericks for Justin Anderson, Andrew Bogut and a first-round pick that may convert to two second-round picks.
Essentially, the 76ers gave Nerlens Noel away.
It would make sense to trade Nerlens Noel right now, for value. He’s coming up on free agency at the end of the year, he’ll likely demand a payday, Joel Embiid is clearly the future of the franchise and Emidd and Noel don’t mesh on the court. Noted.
However, the 76ers got no value in this trade. Bogut won’t see the court, they’re just going to buy out his contract. Anderson can be a role player. He’s young, cheap and a good defender. But, he’s not worth trading away Nerlens Noel.
A first round pick is always favorable and the 76ers love their picks. This pick will likely backfire on them given it’s 1-18 protection. So, the first round pick will likely convert to the Mavs’ second round picks in 2017 and 2018. This would make the deal even worse for Philadelphia.

Philadelphia might end up trading a lottery pick (Noel was taken sixth in 2013) for a former first-rounder (Anderson was picked 21st in the 2015 draft) and two second-round picks.”
