Player of the Year, Justin Thomas, looks to complete a hat trick victory at the CIMB Classic this week. The PGA Tour travels to TPC Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia for the second event of the 2017-2018 swing season.
CIMB Classic Fantasy Golf Rankings
PAS contributor and DFS analyst, Taylor @Sgrignoli3, and I have collaborated to create rankings for the CIMB Classic based on current form statistics for the past 12, 24 and 36 rounds played. We are still in the process of tweaking and updating our model. Unfortunately, the CIMB Classic does not use ShotLink data so there is little-to-no historical stats available for this event.
As mentioned in last week’s article, FantasyNational.com is used to help create our weekly fantasy golf rankings. Taylor and I will identify which statistical categories we feel are most important for the week’s tournament and create our rankings based on those weighted statistics.
The weighted player statistics we focused on when creating our rankings model for the CIMB Classic include:
- Strokes Gained: Approach
- Birdie or Better
- Fairways Gained
- Proximity from 100-125 yards
- DraftKings Points
