Malcolm Jenkins also chimes in on Colin Kaepernick

This is my third blog this week and second today about Colin Kaepernick. Why? Because it’s absolute bullshit that he’s not on an NFL team. That is why. I’m not going to go in-depth about everything again in this blog. At least some NFL players are coming to Colin Kaepernick’s defense. Most recently, Malcolm Jenkins has spoken out about the embattled quarterback.

You can also listen to our podcast where we talk about Kaepernick and being on the right side of history.

First of all, shout out to Delaware Online for getting this scoop. Who knew?

Jenkins had some choice words for “other teams’ owners,” meaning Steve Bisciotti of the Ravens.

DelawareOnline.com: “This is just some other teams being, quite honestly, cowards, to say that they’re afraid of backlash to sign someone to make their team better when fans’ input has never been in the equation when it comes to signing people in the past,” Jenkins told delawareonline.com Thursday.

“It’s certain owners’ way of making an example out of [Kaepernick] to discourage anybody else from doing what he did.”

Get ’em Jenkins. This is 100% the NFL trying to make an example out of Kaepernick. They’re pulling a Lavar Ball and telling him to “stay in his lane.”  It’s unfortunate that they’re doing it at all, but especially by trying to suppress his freedom of speech.

DelawareOnline.com“Four months ago, there was a debate as to whether [Kaepernick] is talented enough or whatever,” Jenkins said. “I think at this point in time when you look at the quarterbacks who have jobs around the league, and the amount of owners and GMs who have only spoken of what fans would think about his stance. I think it’s safe to throw out that talent argument, and basically focus on the fact that he doesn’t have a job solely because he didn’t stand for the anthem last year, even though he already expressed that he planned on standing this year.”

See, our guy Kaepernick is even willing to play ball. He’ll stand for the national anthem this year. Shout out to Malcolm Jenkins for saying that there are shittier quarterbacks in the league than Kaep, without calling them out by name, like Richard Sherman did.

DelawareOnline.com: “But I would say that teams are willing to sign people who abuse women, people who do stupid stuff and get locked up, which is embarrassing,” Smith added. “But the guy protested, and he said he’s not protesting again. He said he’s done with the protests. He’s still going to continue his work in the community. My thing is we have our priorities backwards. He protested. People are still mad at him for actually protesting instead of what he’s protesting for.”

Are Malcolm Jenkins and I the same person? Maybe. Because, it sounds like he pulled that quote directly off of a “Cavi’s talking points on Colin Kaepernick” presentation.

I have so much respect for Malcolm Jenkins right now.

DelawareOnline.com: “It’s one of those things where the public declarations by some of these owners to basically feel good about the fact that they’re weighing their options is completely ludicrous,” Jenkins said. “I think it’s unfortunate that there’s an environment where that is acceptable.”
