The Jeremy Hill Train Has Not Left The Station
If you are a fantasy owners that jumped off the Jeremy Hill train and immediately boarded the Joe Mixon express, you may want to hold onto your ticket. At least for right now. According to Cincinnati beat writer Jim Owczarski @JimOwczarski, there is no reason to believe that Jeremy Hill is not the clear cut starter for the Bengals in 2017. As a matter of fact he goes on to make this statement.
“I’m not quite sure why this matters so much, who “starts.” Outside of quarterback, it doesn’t really mean much. Unless Jeremy Hill is injured or is absolutely terrible, he’ll start all season.”
With that much conviction from a man that studies the Bengals day in and day out, it makes you feel really good about Jeremy Hill. If nothing else, at least Hill appears to be getting a chance to lose the job himself.
Fantasy Related: Hill currently has an ADP of 12.12 in PPR and 10.10 in standard scoring leagues. Do I smell late round steal potential? At least in standard scoring, yes! In standard leagues you can get Hill in the 10th or Mixon in the 3rd. I’ll take the value and go with the guy who should be starting day 1. Keep in mind Hill is not a third down or passing down back. He is strictly a 1st and 2nd down back with a lot of potential around the goal line. That being said, draft him like a flex option with the potential of RB2 upside.
