Here are today’s fantasy baseball highlights and injury news for Friday, July 7th.
TOP STORY: ‘burn Baby, Burn
Oakland A’s rookie pitcher, Paul Blackburn, has begun his MLB career in pretty darn good fashion. Blackburn picked up his first big league win in Seattle on Thursday, tossing 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball. In his first two starts, the 23-year-old has pitched 13 2/3 innings, giving up one run and striking out 4. He currently holds a 0.66 ERA.
Although his first start ended in a no decision, Blackburn pitched another gem on Thursday, capturing what is sure to be a memorable win…and likely, the first of many.
The young talent has a bright future in the bigs. It will be interesting to see how long he can continue this amazing start. I’m just hoping his teammates gave him the game ball Thursday.
