Fun fact: Connor McDavid is 20 years old. That’s right, this kid can’t even legally have a beer in America and he’s sitting on a cool $100 million contract. Good for him.

The contract, which will start with the 2018-19 season, will have an average annual value of $12.5 million. It will be the highest salary cap charge in the NHL.
Chicago Blackhawks forwards Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews each have a contract with a $10.5 million average annual value, according to CapFriendly.com. Each had been the highest salary cap charge in the League.
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will have a salary cap charge of $10.5 million beginning in 2018-19, when McDavid’s new contract begins.
“I’m so excited to wear the Oilers jersey for the next nine years,” McDavid said Wednesday. “I’m in it for the long haul. I want to win here.”
