Warriors could lose over $22million with sweep of Cavs
There has never been an NBA team to go 16-0 in the playoffs to win the NBA championship. By winning the fourth game Friday night in Cleveland and sweeping the Cavaliers, the Golden State Warriors could cost the ownership group more than $22million if they do not return home for the final games of the series. However, if a sweep does happen, owners will still be compensated for the huge loss by each receiving one pair of Lonzo Ball shoes.
Celebrity chef buys interest in Belmont horse
Celebrity chef, Bobby Flay, bought 25% interest in J Boys Echo on Wednesday. Flay purchased his share of the colt before the post positions were assigned for Saturday’s $1.5million race. When asked about the chances his new investment has at winning Belmont this weekend, Flay stated, “Whether the horse wins or loses, I’ll make sure he tastes delicious.”
Olympics to add 3-on-3 basketball and mixed-gender swimming and track events in 2020
Three-on-three basketball competition will make its debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This along with mixed-gender relays in swimming, track and field and triathlon will be added to the program which will increase the number of medal events to 339, up from 306 in Rio. It is unclear what we as the viewing public can expect from these new events, but one thing’s for certain…they will suck.
Tiger’s DUI from Xanax
It has now been reported that Tiger Woods informed the police officers he took Xanax the night of his arrest. Woods’ May 29th DUI occurred when officers found the pro golfer asleep at the wheel of his vehicle. When he was asked during the field sobriety tests why he was on the medication without a prescription, Woods responded by drooling on himself, then groped a birch tree.
