Well, look at this. The Pacers have traded Paul George to The Oklahoma City Thunder. A move that must have put a smile on NBA MVP, Russell Westbrook’s face.
I like this move. But, George has made it clear that he wants to play for Lakers next year. So, I hope that the Thunder have something else up their sleeve for the 2019 season, because Paul is hitting SoCal when it’s time for free agency.
Let’s call this what it is; the Thunder renting George for year.
With George on a potential 1-year rental this could mean Westbrook is actually more likely to wait on an extension. He gets his $ either way

ESPN.com: “The Indiana Pacers have agreed to trade four-time All-Star forward Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne on Friday night.
As part of the deal, the Pacers will acquire guard Victor Oladipo and second-year big man Domantas Sabonis, sources said.
The trade ends weeks of speculation regarding George, the 27-year-old forward who had committed to playing with the Pacers through the 2017-18 season but said he would become a free agent next offseason and preferred to join the Los Angeles Lakers. George is from Southern California.
George had been linked to several teams since, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets.”
