TOP STORY: Zunino’s Two-Homer Night
Mike Zunino hit his 2nd homer of the game with two outs in the 9th inning to give the Seattle Mariners a 6-5 comeback victory. Zunino had a recent stint in the minors to work on his swing, and that work seems to have paid off! The Mariners are on a tear, winning 9 of their last 10 games.

- CC Sabathia, P, Yankees = The big fella (7-2) pitched 8 scoreless innings, giving up 5 hits and striking out 5 in the 8-0 win.
- Brian McCann, C, Astros = The veteran went 4-4 with a solo HR, double, two RBIs and two runs scored in Wednesday’s loss.
- Josh Donaldson, 3B, Blue Jays = Donaldson went 1-2 with a two-run HR and three walks. The 11th inning 141-foot high blast was the third baseman’s second game-winning homer in four days.
- Jay Bruce, OF, Mets = Bruce went 2-4 with two HRs and 3 RBIs in the Mets win.
- Trey Mancini, DH/OF, Orioles = Coming off the bench in the 9th inning, Mancini hit a pinch hit two-run homer, then hit a three-run shot for the defeat in the 11th.
- Alex Colome, P, Rays = Colome picked up his 16th save of the season, striking out one while giving up a hit in a scoreless 9th inning Wednesday.
- Jason Vargas, P, Royals = Vargas (8-3) allowed two runs on six hits with five strikeouts in the victory.

- Manny Machado, SS, Orioles: Removed from Wednesday’s game with left wrist soreness. X-rays came back negative. He is listed as day-today.
- Dallas Keuchel, P, Astros: Keuchel was pulled from starting Wednesday’s game against the Royals due to illness.
- Kyle Higashioka, C, Yankees: The catcher (ribs) was activated off the 7-day DL at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
- Adrian Beltre, 3B, Rangers: The veteran third baseman (ankle) will likely land on the DL.
- Aldonis Garcia, 3B, Braves: Placed on the 10-day DL with a finger injury.
- Edwin Encarnacion, DH, Indians: Sidelined Wednesday with hip soreness. He is day-to-day.
- Braxton Garrett, P, Marlins: The pitching prospect (elbow) may have to undergo Tommy John surgery.
