The Philadelphia Flyers have re-signed Jordan Weal, just one day before he’d have hit the free agency market. The deal will keep Weal in Philadelphia for two seasons. After being traded to the team from the LA Kings, Weal spent a significant amount of time in the AHL. He was also recently meeting with Vancouver and Montreal, and fielding phone calls from 10 other teams, because Philly wasn’t being quick enough on the draw. So, it’s good to see they came together on a 2 year, $175 million contract.
Weal’s been tearing up the AHL in preparation for a big career in Philadelphia. 220 points in 264 AHL games? Not too shabby.
