Fantasy baseball player news and injury report for Tuesday, June 13th.
TOP STORY: Matt Adams crushing as Freddie Freeman’s replacement
It’s true. I am a Braves fan, but I swear that there is no bias here. When the face of the Atlanta Braves’ franchise, Freddie Freeman, went on the DL after suffering a wrist fracture from being hit by a pitch in mid-late May, the Braves made a trade for St. Louis Cardinals first baseman, Matt Adams. Since coming to Atlanta, Adams has been on a tear. Monday night was no different.
Adams went 3-4 with two home runs and four RBIs in the win over the Nationals. Since May 21st, the day the Braves acquired Matt “the Bat,” he has played 22 games with his new team. During this span, no other player in the majors has hit as many homers (8) as Adams, who has also batted in 19 runs.
Freeman is expected to be out until early August. Adams has some big shoes to fill until then, but so far, the slugger is doing one hell of a good job.
