Congratulations to Lakeland’s Brooke Estadt on her commitment to Cornell University. Estadt will continue her athletic and academic career at the Division 1, Ivy League university. So, not only is Brooke athletically gifted, she must be extremely smart as well.
As always, we like to highlight exceptional athletes from North East Pennsylvania. It’s our way to still feel connected to the community that gave us so much.
We’re all Carbondale guys, Tommy and I are actually Carbondale Track alumnae. But, we admire Brooke Estadt’s achievements, even though she’s a Lakeland Chief. Paul actually married a Lakeland girl, so it’s safe or us to cheer for them now.
TheCarbondaleNews.com: “Lakeland claimed its share of state medals at last weekend’s State Track and Field Championships.
Brooke Estadt grabbed a bronze medal in the triple jump (36-9.75) and sixth place medal in the long jump.
Madison Harding was fourth in the 100 meter hurdles (15.17). Corah Krantz was fifth in the pole vault (11-0).
On the boys’ side, Cy Babcanec won a sixth place medal in the 400 (50.35) and teamed with Matt Pidgeon, Tyler Schwartztrauber and Logan Bednash for a sixth place medal in the 1,600 relay (3:26.66).”
