I’ve always connected to the music of American Opera. The music is heart felt, gritty and flat out real. I first met/heard John of American Opera when he was in the band Your Best Friend. I loved that band and naturally transitioned to American Opera upon first listen.
I’m glad to see that American Opera’s music is getting the attention it deserves. Please enjoy the first release off of the record that is out today!
I’m a sports guy, but I’m THE music guy. So, take my advice and listen to the song below. Like a million times and then go buy the album.
Paste, pretty much summed this up much better than I ever could.
Paste: “A track about getting older while trying to stay true to your younger self and finding light in the darkness, “Monsters Among Men” is a personal one to Bee. He shares, “I was raised in the church. Three things happened in my life that made me question everything I ever believed. My friend took his own life, my cousin’s life was taken from him, and the Sandy Hook shooting. I still don’t know what to believe. But I know what I want to believe.”
