The final leg of the Triple Crown is upon us! This weekend, 2017 Belmont Stakes will descend upon the horse racing and gambling world. For those of you who may be novices to horse racing, The Belmont is the third and final leg of horse racing’s “Triple Crown,” which also includes the Preakness Stakes and Kentucky Derby.
When is the 2017 Belmont Stakes? Saturday, June 10 – Post time is 6:37 p.m. EST. The will begin around 6:50 pm. EST.
Where is the Belmont Stakes? Belmont Park in Elmon, New York
My Pick: I’m going with my man, Irish War Cry. I’ve picked this horse in all three legs of The Triple Crown, even when he didn’t run in The Preakness, I still picked him. In my defense, I was reading an article form The Bleacher Report that said he was running. Irish War Cry, as noted didn’t run in the Preakness, so he’s rested and ready to go!
It’s important to note, that Always Dreaming, who won the 2017 Kentucky Derby and Cloud Computing, who won the 2017 Preakness Stakes will not be running in the Belmont. The lack of possibilities for a “Triple Crown” or even a “Double Crown” has left this year’s Belmont Stakes without much fan fair. But, it’s still going to be a great race! Without the two previous winners, there’s no real favorite for handicappers to latch onto. Now, it’s a wide-open field and Irish War Cry rises to the top as the clear favorite.
