Will Green-Beckham and Agholor Make Final Roster?
Magic 8-Ball says “Outlook Not So Good”.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer stated today, “It’s difficult to see” Dorial Green-Beckham making the Eagles final roster. The same fate may be inevitable for Nelson Agholor also. It wasn’t surprising, considering all the Eagles did this offseason was sign wide receivers.
The Eagles added Torrey Smith, Alshon Jeffery and two rookies in the past two months. Any one with any understanding of ffotball would recognize the writing on the wall. DGB and Agholor may be on borrowed time within the Eagles organization.
No one can blame Philadelphia for making improvements at a position that ranked in the bottom of the league in most receiving metrics, but much closer to the top in dropped passes. After the Eagles gave away the farm to acquire Carson Wentz it only makes sense to put weapons around him to help him succeed. Clearly Green-Beckham and Agholor were not it.
With 2016 stats that almost mirror image each other, neither receiver lived up to the organizations expectations. Collectively they contributed to 72 receptions, just over 750 yards and 4 touchdowns. Chances are they could get that same productivity out of Mack Hollins and Shelton Gibson. The two receivers the Eagles took late in this years draft.
