Shell Houston Open Fantasy Golf Rankings

The PGA Tour will travel to the Lone Star State for the Shell Houston Open this week. See below for Shell Houston Open fantasy golf rankings, along with my top three One and Done fantasy league options.

Puerto Rico Open and WGC-Dell Match Play finishes

D.A. Points (#14 in our overall rankings last week) picked up the victory at the Puerto Rico Open. Points fired a final round 66 to capture a two-shot victory.

Dustin Johnson won his second consecutive WGC event of the short PGA season, beating Jon Rahm 1-up on Sunday at the Dell Technologies Match Play. DJ now has won three Tour events in a row. He has withdrawn from the Shell Houston Open but will be a favorite at next week’s Masters Tournament.

13 out of the Top 20 overall ranked players made the cut at the Puerto Rico Open last week. Here are ten notable finishes from our top 20 rankings:

Rank      Player                                   Finish

1              L. List                                    T-37

3              W. Bryan                              T-62

4              B. Fritsch                              T-44

5              R. Sabbatini                         T-37

Four out of the five undervalued plays we recommended for the Puerto Rico Open finished in 44th place or better. Whee Kim, a $6,200 value in DraftKings, was our top suggested performer who finished the event with a T-5.

Shell Houston Open Breakdown

Many Tour players have noted similarities between the Golf Club of Houston and Augusta National, where the Masters will be played next week. 31 golfers playing in the Shell Houston Open have already qualified for the Masters. The remaining 131 players in the field will have to compete against 11 of the top 30 golfers in the world in order to win a spot at playing in next week’s coveted event.

The GC of Houston measures 7,441. Approach and ball striking will be key stats this week. Above average long iron and greens-in-regulation players will have to best chance for success. The SHO is do or die for many in the field if they want to take a cruise up Magnolia Lane next week.
