QB
Stud of the Week
Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks (vs. LA Rams)
- Wilson has a bounce back week after throwing 5 interceptions last week. The Rams finally fired Jeff Fisher but now interim coach John Fassel has to figure out how to beat a pissed off Seahawks team in Seattle on Thursday night. Spoiler alert, it’s not going to be close. Seattle may hang 40+ on the Rams.
Dud of the Week
Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals (vs. New Orleans Saints)
- Although this seems like a dream matchup for Palmer owners against the Saints defense, who give up the 9th most fantasy points to QBs, it’s actually not that good. The Saints have only given up 20 or more fantasy points to QBs twice in the last seven games. Palmer has only scored over 20 fantasy points twice since week 2.
RB
Stud of the Week
Kenneth Farrow, San Diego Chargers (vs. Oakland Raiders)
- Melvin Gordon is expected to miss this game which opens up a huge opportunity for rookie Farrow to show his versatility. Last week in relief of Gordon, Farrow touched the ball 22 times including 6 catches. Oakland gives up the 8th most fantasy points to RBs and we know how much San Diego loves to let their running backs loose when possible.
Dud of the Week
Spencer Ware, Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Tennessee Titans)
- Ware cannot be trusted at this point in the fantasy season. It is win or go home time and Ware is too unreliable to start. 1 touchdown in his last seven games and he has only put up 10 or more fantasy points twice in that same stretch. Tennessee gives up the 4th fewest fantasy points to RBs so I am sitting Ware this week.
WR
Stud of the Week
Pierre Garcon, Washington Redskins (vs Carolina Panthers)
- Garcon has been the staple of consistency for the Redskins receivers over the last month. Garcon has had at least 5 catches in five of the last six games and he gets a nice matchup with the Panthers coming to town. Carolina is giving up the 2nd most fantasy points to WRs this season.
Dud of the Week
TY Hilton, Indianapolis Colts (at Minnesota Vikings)
- It’s hard to ever bench a guy with the skill and upside of TY Hilton but this week everyone may have to temper expectations. He comes into Minnesota with a struggling quarterback and a Viking defense giving up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to WRs. Also if Moncrief can’t go this week (hamstring) it will be much easier to key in on Hilton as the only receiving threat.
TE
Stud of the Week
Kyle Rudolph, Minnesota Vikings (vs. Indianapolis Colts)
- With a name like Rudolph you have to expect productivity in December right? Kyle is averaging 10 targets per game over the last three weeks and he gets a Colts defense who not only is giving up the 10th most fantasy points to TEs this season, but also has given up 23 touchdown passes. Rudolph with your matchup so bright you can guide my team tonight.
Dud of the Week
Delanie Walker, Tennessee Titans (at Kansas City Chiefs)
- Walker has been a solid TE start all season long for owners but this is the week you have to worry. Kansas City gives up the 3rd fewest fantasy points and rank eighth in yards allowed per game to TEs. Walker has only had 9 total catches over the last three weeks, which matches the amount of receptions he had in week 10.
DEF
Stud of the Week
New Orleans Saints (at Arizona Cardinals)
- Arizona has given up the 5th most fantasy points to defenses this season. Carson Palmer has been turnover machines this season and New Orleans has scored 16 or more fantasy points in four of their last five matchups.
Dud of the Week
Philadelphia Eagles (at Baltimore Ravens)
- Baltimore has given up the 15th fewest fantasy points to defenses this season. The Eagles are averaging under 10 fantasy points per game on the road this year and Baltimore still has a playoff spot to play for.
