An “ugly” party trend that popularized roughly a decade ago, the Christmas sweater has given us a reason to get together with loved ones this time of the year and engage in booze-induced laughs, and to temporarily escape the stress of the holiday season by dusting off mom’s old red and green Boscov’s jumper. Although cozy and fun, these types of ugly Christmas sweaters are not what my week 14 fantasy football advice to you is about.
The regular season is now over. The next three weeks of fantasy playoffs are single elimination. Stay humble and focused during playoffs. All fantasy owners who have reached the playoff threshold will be sweating out the remainder of the 2016 fantasy season. Sure, some finished in first and second place awarding a first round bye. If you happen to be one of these owners, well then good for you. Have a sugar cookie and enjoy the week off.
To everyone else, believe me, while the rest of the league is battling to survive week 14 fantasy football, these bye week villains will be sweating it out with the rest of us. Injuries, bad matchups and poor performances are just as likely to occur now as any other time throughout the season. No team is immune to the fatal consequences that any of these three fantasy black widows can inject. The realization of this possibility is on everyone’s mind during fantasy playoffs. Remain calm, cool and confident.
Trust your lineup, and most importantly, your judgment. Let the other owners of your league sweat through their synthetic wool pullovers this December. Rock that turtleneck/cardigan combo and enjoy the road to your fantasy football league championship. And of course, whenever you’re in doubt this holiday season, go with your gut!
