Shame on DeMarco Murray

That’s right, I said it. Shame or DeMarco Murray for running so good just so he could spite Chip Kelly

I hope Charles Barkley was right when he famously said “I’m not a role model. Just because I can dunk a basketball doesn’t mean I should raise your kids” because it’s glaringly obvious that DeMarco Murray is running so well just to get back at Chip Kelly for not giving him the ball more in Philadelphia, which is a bad message to send to all the kiddos out there who still tune into to watch the NFL on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays some Saturdays and soon to be every other day of the week. Now I’m not saying that Murray will bully kids into begging their parents to buy a video game like Sir Charles did with Barkley Shut Up and Jam, but teaching kids it’s okay to hold a grudge and humiliate someone because they only gave you something 193 times instead of 392 times is plain wrong.

You know, Chip Kelly doesn’t need this either. The guy has been through enough. From deciding to get rid of all the guys who put the ball in the end zone with any kind of regularity in Philadelphia to trying to coach a team in San Francisco who’s on the field leader is more famous for what he does on the sideline. Chip doesn’t need to see that Murray is currently the NFL’s second leading rusher. He doesn’t need to know that Murray is only 33 carries away from the amount of carries he had in Philadelphia or that he already has 54 yards more than the amount he gained in 15 games as an Eagle. He doesn’t need to be explained to anymore that Murray’s at his best when he’s running between the tackles, running downhill with a fullback leading the way just like he did for his last year at Dallas when he led the league in rushing with 1,845 yards. He just doesn’t need to be reminded that the Eagles gave DeMarco 12 million guaranteed for his eventual 1 year of service that happened to be Kelly’s last year in the city of Brotherly Love.

So, go ahead and plug Murray into your fantasy lineup every week knowing that he’s going to get near 25 touches and somewhere around 85 yards rushing and a score with a handful of catches as well. Go ahead, be my guest. Just know that every time you do you’re basically slapping Chip Kelly in the face (something LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin and Desean Jackson would love to do). Just thought you should know all this when you have that talk with your child discussing who their heroes are.
