The flex position is typically a guy that is not a must start every week, but on certain weeks may have a favorable match up worthy of being in your lineup.
I am going to give you some of my top flex players for Week 10.
-
Darren Sproles, Philadelphia Eagles (vs. Atlanta Falcons)
Darren Sproles finally got the news this week that his owners were all waiting for, he was the new lead back in Philadelphia. We talked about this on our last show, he is better than Ryan Mathews on multiple levels and should have been given this opportunity weeks ago. I think this week against Atlanta he will be involved on the ground and through the air making him a great flex option.
-
Adam Humphries, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. Chicago Bears)
Last week Adam Humphries finally showed rewarded fantasy owners that took a flyer on him after Vincent Jackson was put on IR earlier this season. 7 targets, 5 catches, 46 yards and a TD last week vs. Atlanta. I will take that again this week as my flex option against an even worse pass defense in Chicago. The Bears give up the most fantasy points to wide receivers this year. Looks for a lot of plays through the air.
-
Tim Hightower, New Orleans Saints (Vs. Denver Broncos)
Tim Hightower, or Mr. Homewrecker, if you own Mark Ingram. Look Tim Hightower isn’t going away any faster than Donald Trump, regardless if we want both of them to. Over the last two weeks Timmy has rushed the ball 49 times for 189 yards and a TD. This week he gets the Denver Broncos and even though he will still be part of the Saints committee backfield he will get touches, and a lot of them. Denver is good against the pass but bad against the run. Don’t believe me? Denver has given up the 8th most fantasy points to running backs which includes 3 touchdowns last week to Latavious Murray.

Matt Asiata, Minnesota Vikings (@ Washington Redskins)
Matt Asiata has probably been stinking up your team for a few weeks now and begging to be dropped. Well this is the week I say you grow a set and flex him out. Washington gives up the 6th most fantasy points to running backs this season but you wouldn’t know that by looking at the total yards they give up. Great news for Asiata, he can’t run fast or far anyway. But what you should know is that the Redskins have given up the most rushing touchdowns inside of the 5 yard line this year. Of the 10 rushing touchdowns Washington surrendered this year 8 came from goal line carries.
-
JJ Nelson, Arizona Cardinals (Vs. San Francisco 49ers)
If you listened to the show two weeks ago we talked about picking JJ Nelson up off the waiver wire. Coming off his bye this week he gets the defense deficient San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers give up the 6th most fantasy points to wide receivers this year and since taking the starting role over Michael Floyd three weeks ago Nelson has been on a tear. I expect Nelson to feast this week.
